Sunday Snips and Clips: Trick or Treat Grab Bag

Can it really be Sunday again? Sorry for the lateness of the Snips and Clips. I spent most of the weekend finishing up the next round of edits on Prime Evil and every time I thought I was done I found more. I believe it’s a stronger, better, faster, six million dollar story now, but I am worn out. Why was it so hard? Because I have the sequel to Remembering Ashby would not shut up while I was trying to do P.E. edits. I’ve been jotting down notes all weekend. I have most of the first act completely mapped out, so here’s hoping that my pantser abilities aren’t stifled by all these plotting notes.

Yes, it could be worse, I am so very well aware of that. In the meanwhile, Prime Evil is on the way back to the editor. I got a glimpse of the cover and I’m waiting for final approval before posting it here. I’m dying to dive into The Forgotten and in the meanwhile, life goes on.

Trick or Treat Time of Year

I love this time of year. October always means a cooling off from the brutal hot of summer. Sweaters come out, breezes cool down and I can sleep with my windows open at night because it’s colder outside than it is in. It’s also a time for pumpkins and jack-o’-lanterns and dressing up in fun costumes. I really want to be the Queen of Hearts this year, but I may not have time to get it all together with all the balls I’m juggling at the moment, but fingers crossed, if I do, you’ll definitely see it going on here.

October also means fun giveaways here at the DD. Besides our mug giveaway, any post that references trick or treat that you comment on automatically enters you in the trick or treat grab bag at the end of the month. Just what is going to be in this bag? Well, that’s the point of trick or treat, now isn’t it? I can tell you there will be at least one autographed novel in there.

Spotlight On Week: October Style

Last month, I hosted a poll about who or what you wanted to see featured in future Spotlight On months and fantasy authors came up roses. So this week, I’ve got some fantasy authors to deliver right to you. First up, we have Michele Bardley on Monday, Dakota Cassidy on Tuesday, Rosemary Clement-Moore on Wednesday, Patricia Briggs on Thursday and thanks to my special guest interviewer Lisa Pietsch: moi on Friday.

These authors all have something in common that I aspire to, hence why I lumped myself in there. They write urban fantasies with romantic elements and a great deal of fun. So be sure to stop by every day this week. I’m looking forward to rubbing elbows with some of my favorite writers.

November at the Daily Dose

A heads up for all aspiring guest bloggers, next month is National Novel Writing Month. I am going to be participating along with my daughter who is going to enter the junior division, I will be throwing up the doors to guest bloggers, so get your reservations in now.

Also, I plan to launch a blog tour sometime in November for Prime Evil, so look for more plans about that soon.

Well that’s all for this edition of Snips and Clips. Catch you on the flip side.
