Sunday Snips & Clips: November Edition

Remember, remembering the 5th of November, gunpowder, treason and plot. I see no reason why gunpowder treasons should ever be forgot. For those of you who observe it, Guy Fawkes Day falls this week. For Americans, this is the month that marks our Thanksgiving where traditionally we give thanks for all that has happened to us, all that we have endured and that we have endured. It is important to remember that we do use Thanksgiving to celebrate our bounty in things, but our bounty in life and that despite what we have suffered, we are still here. So if you have something you are particularly thankful for this month, be sure to send it my way, I’d love to share it with others.

Trick or Treat Contest Winner

I held three major contests for October, two hosted by the Daily Dose and one by Dakota Cassidy. As you will recall, we had our Trick or Treat Grab bag. To enter, you merely had to post on a blog that used the words Trick or Treat in the title. The grab bag includes a number of books such as Rosemary Clement –Moore’s The Splendor Falls (autographed), Shannon K Butcher’s Love You to Death, Patricia Briggs Hunting Ground and more. And the winner is: Carol L! Congratulations Carol L and thank you for reading the Daily Dose. If you did not leave your email or it’s not in your profile, please drop me a note.

Dakota Cassidy Contest Winner

The fabulous and fun Dakota Cassidy participated in my Spotlight On this month even when I rolled it forwards a week without meaning to. This ultra cool and fun author rolled with it and let her fans know where they could find her. She also offered a terrific $15 Amazon gift certificate to one lucky commentator. The winner is: Virginia C! Congratulations Virginia. I need you to drop a mail to Dakota Cassidy; she already knows to expect it.

Daily Dose Mug

Of course, the most important giveaway of the month! Every single person who comments on the Daily Dose during the course of a month is automatically entered for a chance to win a Daily Dose mug as pictured in the sidebar. I will be giving away one in November and in December too. Nothing like a hot cup of coffee with your morning Daily Dose, eh? Well our winner for October is fabulous author and guest blogger Nikki Duncan! I giggled when we pulled her name out of the hat as I actually owe the nice lady a cup of tea!

Be sure to give all our winners a big round of applause.
So, What’s Coming Up Next?

November and December are going to be really busy months, so a number of events that I host for November will roll over into December as we celebrate the Holiday season. November also celebrates NaNoWriMo, so for the writers who are participating, please check the special Daily Dose posting each and every day of November, just for you.

Prime Evil Releases

First and foremost, we have the launch of Prime Evil, the first Chance Monroe Adventure novel from Sapphire Blue Publishing featuring hedge witch heroine, Chance Monroe. The book is scheduled for release the week of November 8 so mark your calendars to buy a copy and remembering $0.25 of every purchased e-book will be donated to the World Wildlife Fund. This is a way to give back to the Earth that nourishes us.

Holiday Spotlight On and Giveaways

Our Holiday Spotlight On interviews will be published during the week of November 30th and features authors like Kay Hooper, Robert J. Sawyer, Tessa Dare (fingers crossed), Julie Garwood and one more special edition if I can get them to say yes. We’ll be giving away a Supernatural Dean Winchester calendar before Christmas (yes, we do love us some Jensen Ackles). I will also be giving away Amazon gift certificates at least four of them for $5 to $10 each in value. So be on the lookout!

Finally, let me say how thankful I am to all my readers at the Daily Dose, to the ladies of Fresh Fiction who are hosting the Daily Dose and to the great friends I’ve made locally and globally via Facebook, Twitter, Sapphire Blue Publishing and the DFWTea Readers Group. I am profoundly thankful for each and every one of you.

Happy November!
