Heather Long #Holiday #Giveaway : Meet Author @ElianneAdams #Interview #Dragons

Born of snow and ice, or at least near snow and ice in Ontario, Canada, √Člianne Adams has always enjoyed curling up with a good book and warm blanket. Even before she really knew what love was, she dreamed of writing her own stories, but it wasn`t until her very own hero encouraged her to follow her lifelong dream that she put the words begging to be told onto paper. When √Člianne isn`t reading or writing, she can be found spending time with her husband, three children, and their three pets.

What words of wisdom would you impart with your younger self if you could go back to when you were writing your first book?
I think the first thing I’d tell myself is that the most important part of writing is enjoying what you’re doing. Take the time you need to learn the craft and put out the best possible book you can, but don’t lose track of the fun aspects of writing along the way.

When you’re not busy writing all the words, what do you like to do to occupy your free time?
I don’t think there is such a thing as free time for an author. When I’m not writing the words, I’m thinking about what happens next. Once the words are all on paper, I’m working on promotion and marketing. During the slower times, though, I love to spend my time with my kids, and hubby. We watch movies, play board games, and of course, like most authors, I love to read. I read everything romance, but my heart belongs to paranormal. I love the alphas and heroes that are larger than life.

Tell us about your writing day. Do you have a specific area where you always write? What kind of schedule to you keep? Are there any kind of writing rituals or habits that you can tell us about?
I’m very habitual when it comes to my writing. I have to sit at my desk. On the right side of my laptop, I always burn a red candle. I especially love it at this time of year since the cinnamon smell just puts me in a Christmas spirit. I usually have a coffee or water on my left, and my cat snoring on the arm of the couch next to me. I don’t have music, or the TV going, as I find it way too distracting. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t waste a bit of time on social media before I started writing each day, but I do try to limit it to thirty minutes or less when I’m on a deadline. Once I get my words for the day, then I do some promotion and get to do the fun stuff like talk to fans on Facebook or Twitter. I love chatting with readers.

Are there any new paranormal authors who have caught your eye recently?
I’ve recently read a story by Elizabeth Varlet called Abounding Dawn. I absolutely loved it. There’s something in her writer’s voice that draws me into the story, and won’t let go. I can’t recommend her highly enough. I can’t wait to see what she comes out with next.

If you could sit down and talk shop with any one author (past or present), who would you love to spend a few hours speaking with? Why? What would you ask them?

I love Christine Feehan. I was introduced to her Carpathian series a few years ago, and I’ll gladly admit that I’ve read all but the last two books. (more than once). I’ve since read all her other series as well, and enjoyed each of those as well. She encapsulates the meaning of Alpha males, and each book makes me fall in love with the heroes, and in the process the heroine as well. I think I’d ask her where her inspiration comes from, and how she keeps working in the same world over so many stories, while still keeping it fresh for the reader.

What’s in the works for you right now? When can we expect to see it released to the world?

I had the most ridiculous fall release schedule ever. Right now, I’m taking it a little easier as I gear up for Christmas, but not too easy. I have a boxed set coming out on January 5th called Wicked Alphas, Wildest Nights. It’s the third installment in the Wicked Alphas, Wild Nights series, and it’s going to be the hottest one of the bunch. I can’t wait to see what the other authors have in there for their sexy scenes.

Other than that, I am working on book three in my Dragon Blood series, Finding His Dragon. Books one, Releasing Her Dragon is available now, and Her Gingerbread Dragon comes out on December 10th, so keep your eyes peeled for it. Each of the stories is complete in and of themselves, but they all tie in together, so you’ll see Brycen and Stella from story one in Her Gingerbread Dragon, and so on. I always love to read more about previously seen characters when I read a series, so I’ve done that here.

If you love dragon romance, then check them out book one on Amazon:
